Ira H Morse was an American big game hunter and the founder of the Morse Big Game Museum in Warren, New Hampshire (now closed).After establishing a successful New England retail shoe business, he mounted six safaris to the dark continent, then mounted his Big Game trophies for New Hampshire to enjoy. The bookis an account of two African safaris - hunting big game with both guns and cameras.
The first trip in 1926, was a 7 month safari in Kenya, East Africa arranged by noted hunter Leslie Tarlton and his company, Safariland. On that trip Ira was accompanied by his oldest son Philip who had just graduated from Dartmouth. The second account is by Ira's wife, Julie, and is a description of her first trip (Ira's 5th) in 1935 in British East Africa - a trip notable for its untypical rainy weather. Covers have faded spine and some soiling, shelf wear, some wear at upper corners.
